Who We Are
The First Congregational Church Nursery School was established in 1963 in Palo Alto, California with the purpose to not only serve the families of the church but also to fulfill the mission of reaching out to the broader community.
Since its inception, “First Congo” as it has affectionately become known, has operated independently from the church where the facility is located. The parents, educators, and church members who founded the school believed passionately in the importance of school as a place of community and child-centered learning. That vision continues to guide our program today.
Our large, bright classrooms and extensive outdoor play area are leased from the church and the school makes all major improvements to the site. This outstanding physical environment beckons children as they enter through the gate each morning.
